Short Trip to Jeju Island Part 1

October 25 2011, My first time to experience the cold Autumn season... After our 6 hour long flight from Singapore to Incheon International Airport, we run towards Gimpo Domestic Airport via Airport Express for our flight to Jeju, via Asiana Airlines. So worried because we might miss our flight.
Luckily we arrived at the domestic airport on time.

Oops, before checking in to Jeju, took a quick shots of the Chrysanthemum Festival at Gimpo Airport.

Welcome to Jeju Island!!!!!

Jeju Island is known as a honeymoon destination. So don't be surprised to see a lot of couples walking on the island, very sweet and .... ^^*
It is a self governing province in Korea. It is the smallest province in the Country. It is 1hour via plane from Gimpo Domestic Airport. It can also be reach by cruises, ferry but it will take longer hours. A lot of Korean drama filming were shot here. Like Secret Garden, Princess Hours, All In, Dae Jangeum and a lot more.

It is a volcanic island surrounded by sea. You can see a lot of different shaped rocks formed like dragons, dolphins and other creatures you can imagine along the sea shores. They say that it was made by volcanic eruptions hundreds years ago. Everything was nature made attractions.

Visiting the island is a bit expensive in terms of transportation, because subway train is not available, you can take public bus which is cheaper, taxi's or joining a Group tour. On our case we just travelled on our own. We took taxi and public bus, so far all of  the Taxi drivers we met our nice and honest even though we have a language barrier. They will try to understand you.
Another thing is, unlike in Seoul, not many of them speaks in English. Its best to look for their Tourist information Center but it is open only until 6pm. So if you find one, its better to ask everything you needed.

Our hotel is surrounded with restaurants so we didn't have problems on getting hungry. Most of the stores open till midnight.

Food is very nice, as always.. A lot of fresh sea food, and vegetables are available for you to enjoy.

If you want to getaway from the busy bustling city, visiting this place is the best. It has fresher air, calm settings and you will really enjoy the greenery and serenity.
