Outside Seoul.....Oido...

Well, I know most people visits the common tourist places..... But somehow I think it will be more fun to try some places that isn't a common ground. Since I have been in Seoul so many times that I tried to look for something new. My friend wanted to go to Oido for a very long time since watching "Foxy Lady"  aka "Whats up Fox?" Chun Jung Myung as the lead actor if you still remember way back 2006. It is the place where him & the older girl she likes talk about her illness and his feelings towards her etc...

Anyway so we decided to go there to finish her unfinished business.

Our hotel is in Euljiro sam ga (Line 2)  which is in green line so we have to hop into transfer trains to reach the Oido Station, which takes about 1 hour and 45 mins.You may want to plan in advance so that you can find a strategic way to reach the place. 

It was a long ride that you can fall asleep in between so must be quick to find a seat so you can enjoy and relax...Since we also targeting to visit Songdo, we decided to visit it together in one day. First in Songdo then Oido.

Once you reach Oido Station, you need to get off the train and go to Exit 1 or 2, don't be confused as both exits will lead you at the same place which is the parking lot. Go straight 70m, as you walk you will find indulging street foods at your left side. It is up to you if you can control the temptations. But make sure you have a lot of time because the bus timing is quite long maybe because it was Saturday.  After the 70m, turn right at the intersection. Then go straight again and you will see a Bus Stop. Take Bus 30-2.

From there it will be a long ride. Be attentive listen and look at the monitor where they flash the stops, don't worry the Oido beach stops is in English. Some blogs says to get off at Oido Ocean Complex/ Okteo Elementary School, which is correct but I suggest after you hear that stop wait for the 3rd stop then get off. That is the rear part of the beach, so that you can start form the last then walk to the front part much easier I guess.

Unluckily it was high tide, we did not experience the famous mud flats but we enjoyed the sunset, walking on the boardwalk, sculptures and the seagulls flying around. While walking you can try the street foods (fried and dried squid, fresh barbecued fish, snails, something like worms (my friend tasted it and said it was delicious), red bean breads, sweet potato etc.) which my friend enjoyed :).

There are a lot of students who were sketching the scenery, maybe their art class. Sweet Couples walking, it was a romantic place for lovers and friends and families too. Or just enjoying the sunset and watching the birds freely flying.

On the other side you can see the skyline of Incheon which I believe is Songdo International Business District. Cool right. We were there before coming to Oido.The air is different, fresher, you can smell the ocean and the sea foods :) A simple getaway from the busy city life.

It was very cold that day about 7 degrees in my record, as the sun sets deeper and the wind blows we felt we could no longer walk and tried to find a Cafe to rest before going back to Seoul. It was not difficult, this is South Korea, Cafes are everywhere.

We find this cute Cafe beside a Hotel, Cafe #Urbane. Its cute, cozy and warm. Thanks for that. The barista is nice and helpful. We ordered Hot Latte, Hot Macchiato, Hot Chocolate and Cheesecake. for me the latte was good, and so are my friends drinks. You should try it. After that we walk straight then turn left at the intersection and when you find the Ediya Cafe across the street is the Bus Stop of 30-2. Then get off at Oido Station and get ready for the long ride back to Seoul.

Oido Station Subway Line 4 ---> Exit 1 or 2 ---> walk Straight ---> Turn Right at the intersection --->
Walk Straight to the Bus Stop ---> Bus 30-2 ---> Get off at Okteo Elementary School/ Oido Ocean Complex or Get off after 3 Stops from this. (See my blog above)
