Songdo Central Park

My first blog after 2 years....ooohh quite long. I think this is the perks of having no work at the moment. I'll try to post a lot of my Summer and Spring in South Korea.

Its Springtime, was hoping to see it but in Songdo it's not yet time. I have been curious about Songdo by the influence of the Song Triplets in the Korean Series Return of Superman. It was almost known as the home of Song Daehan, Minguk and Manse (Song Il-Gooks Sons). It was 4 years ago when I first saw it on TV, but I always fail to include it in my itinerary. And finally now done!!

Songdo Central Park was patterned with New York Central Park and Venice Water ways. From my innate "Arki" side, the building design and the site master plan is quite interesting.

As you exit the Songdo Central Park Station, you will see a neofuturistic, massive concrete building which is called the Tri Bowl. Three structures that looks like an inverted bowl. It is said to be a multicultural Building. It was closed on the day we visited and I have seen on the internet that going there at night is more enjoyable as there are lighting effects.
By the way, just found out, I just watch it recently after my Spring tour that on Episode 1 of Legends of the Blue Sea, it is where Lee Min Ho walk through (yeheyyy been there). Just so you know.

In between the path walks and buildings is the man made water way where you can enjoy by taxi waterway. Family Bikes, Single Bikes, Kayaks and boats are also available for rentals. But me and my friends preferred to walk. Its healthier and cheaper and fun :)

Here is a short clip of the park.

While walking in the park, at the back of my mind I was hoping to bump with the Song triplets. (how fulfilling would that be) But I did not. :)
There are a lot of ahjumma's, ahjussi's, couples, group of friends, kids, strolling, cycling and jogging around the area. Picnic Areas, Vendos (Hot & Cold) Drinks and Snacks are also available. It would be much better if its autumn or peak of spring but still I did enjoy.

If you are tired walking in the park, you can cross the street and turn left walk straight and you find the Canal Walk. Between the shop is a canal ( not the smelly canal)  They call it canal but its like a man made stream. A lot of shops, Cafes and restaurants to choose from. I wasn't able to take photos at the canal walk because was too hungry that time to take pictures.

We found this Myeongdong Mandoo restaurant at the 2nd Level, there we enjoyed Samgyeopsal, mandoo and of course a lot of side dishes. The price is right. The serving is big and enough to fill up our empty stomaches.

After our siesta we decide to end our Songdo trails for our next journey to Oido. On our way back to the station we saw that more people are coming and the wind started to become colder so we hurried up to Songdo Subway Station.
